The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later, Captain Rupert Vicary, representing the Governor, attended the State Funeral Service for the Honourable Kevin Andrews at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

In the morning at Government House, graduates from the Department of Justice and Community Safety visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden.

Later, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the gardens.

Then, the Governor presided over a ministerial swearing-in ceremony for the Allan Government.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the call of Paul Younis, Secretary of Department of Transport and Planning.

Then, the Governor attended the 2024 RMIT University Melbourne Graduation Ceremony, where the Governor was conferred an Honorary Doctorate and gave the graduation address.

Later, the Governor met with Tim Pallas MP, Treasurer of Victoria.

In the morning, Major General David McLachlan AO (Mil) (Ret'd), representing the Governor, attended the State Funeral for Neale Fraser AO MBE.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Then, the Governor, as Patron, visited the Women of the University Fund, where she received a briefing by Sue Beale, Honorary Secretary, and other members. Following the briefing, the Governor met with WUF members and volunteers over morning tea. 

Later, the Governor received the call of Chiara Mauri, Consul-General of Italy.

In the evening, the Governor hosted a Christmas reception.

In the morning at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the State Apartments.

While on a Regional Visit to Mitchell Shire Council, the Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, attended a bicentennial commemoration of the Hume and Hovell exploration party, where she gave a speech to mark the occasion and unveiled a plaque at the Hume and Hovell Monument in Kilmore.

Following this, concluding the Regional Visit to Mitchell Shire Council, the Governor attended a morning tea at Old Kilmore as part of the Hume and Hovell bicentennial commemoration, where she met with local community members and toured the Gaol.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, commenced a Regional Visit to Mitchell Shire Council, where she met with Brett Luxford, CEO, Mitchell Shire Council, before receiving a briefing from the CEO, Councillors and Mitchell Shire Council staff.

In the afternoon, the Governor visited Willowmavin Primary School, where she met with Andrew O’Callaghan, Principal, before receiving a tour of the classrooms with the school captains and meeting with staff and students.

Then, the Governor visited Kilmore District Hospital, where she received a briefing from Jennifer Williams AM, Board Chair, Deborah Bourne, CEO, and staff of Northern Health, before touring the hospital and meeting with nursing students on placement from Charles Sturt University.

Following this, the Governor visited Dianella Nursing Home, where she met with staff and attended an afternoon tea with residents.

The Governor, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, received the call of His Excellency Mr Arto Haapea, Ambassador of Finland, and Andrew Fairley AM, Honorary Consul-General.

In the afternoon, the Governor received the call of Chris Barrett, Secretary, Department of Treasury and Finance.

Following this, the Governor received the call of Benyomin Klein, Michael Spigelman, Eli Szydlo, Chaim Klein, Danny Engelman, Efrayim Bloch, and Simon Weinstein, representatives of the Adass Israel Synagogue.

Then, the Governor received the call of Conrad Tribble, Consul-General of the United States of America, and Alisa Modica, Political and Economic Chief.

In the evening, the Governor hosted a ‘Jazz in the Orchard’ Reception for members of the Consular Corps, where she gave an address to mark the occasion.

Then, the Governor received the call of His Honour Judge Jack Vandersteen, President and Louise James, Strategic Advisor, Children’s Court of Victoria.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the Governor’s Performance Series – Choir Spectacular, where she gave an address to welcome audience members, followed by performances from Dhungala Children’s Choir, Coco’s Lunch and the Australian Girls Choir.
