Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted the Lead Design Project students from various Victorian universities on a tour of Government House. The Governor and Mr Howard hosted a dinner to mark the retirement of Major General David McLachlan AO (Retd) as State President, RSL (Vic Branch) and Mrs Louise McLachlan.
The Governor received the call of the Speaker, the Hon Colin Brooks MP. Later the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, unveiled the original foundation stone of Sir Dallas Brooks Hall, on the 50th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard hosted a luncheon for first official AFL match in China. In the afternoon, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Howard, installed Mr Allan Myers AC QC as the 22nd Chancellor of the University of Melbourne.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted a Reception to mark the 20th anniversary of Phillip Island Nature Parks.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC hosted the 2017 International School Students Welcome Reception. The Governor received the calls of Mr Tim Cartwright, Family Violence Reform Implementation Monitor, followed by the farewell call of Ms Keiko Haneda, Consul-General of Japan. The Governor later met with senior female commissioned officers of Victoria Police.
The Governor received the call of Ms Stephanie Asher of Geelong Consulting Group. Later, the Governor addressed the Minter Ellison Junior Lawyer Committee Reception.
The Governor and Mr Howard continued their official visit to Hepburn Shire where they visited Stonefields Garden, before meeting and lunching with volunteers at the 5000 Club. The Governor and Mr Howard also visited the Hepburn Wind Farm.
The Governor and Mr Anthony Howard QC commenced an official visit to Hepburn Shire, hosted by the Mayor. The Governor and Mr Howard met with the Mayor and Councillors before the Governor officially opened the headquarters of the Daylesford & Hepburn Mineral Springs Co. They also visited Annie Smithers' sustainable kitchen garden restaruant du Fermier in Trentham. Later they visited the studio, gardens and gallery of Mr David Bromley, Sculptor. The Governor and Mr Howard visited the local CFA where the Governor presented the Horrockses Trophy. In the evening, the Governor delivered the keynote address at the Hepburn International Women's Day Honour Roll Presentation.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, visited the Melbourne Girls' College and the Governor addressed the Year 12 Assembly. Later, the Governor and Mr Howard visited the Maternity Ward at the Western Hospital, St Albans Campus. In the afternoon the Governor hosted an International Women's Day Women in Science Think Tank.
The Governor, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard QC, addressed the Victoria Police International Women's Day Breakfast and later, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. The Governor and Mr Howard received the call of members of the Swedish Church and later hosted a luncheon for the Spinal Research Institute.
The Governor received the calls of Mr Peter Scanlon Chairman, Scanlon Foundation, followed by HE Minda Calaguian, Ambassador of the Philippines, and later, the call of Ms Laura Panton, Program Manager, YGAP. In the afternoon, the Governor hosted design students from Victorian universities in the Peace & Prosperity Garden as part of a Victorian design initiative.
