Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
While on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC met with Mr Andy Street CBE, Mayor of the West Midlands; and attended the mixed synchronised 10-meter platform diving final at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
In the evening, the Governor attended the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony and as Victoria’s Chief Citizen, received the Commonwealth Games Flag during the Flag Handover Ceremony.
While on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC met with representatives from the Organising Committee of the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham; and then met with the Victorian Traditional Owners participating in the Victoria 2026 handover ceremony at the Closing Ceremony.
Later, the Governor met with Dame Louise Martin DBE, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation; and hosted and delivered an address at a reception for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games as Chief Citizen.
In the evening, the Governor attended the netball final at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
While on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, attended & Juliet, and met with the production company representatives and cast.
While on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, met with Rt Hon Sir Hugo Swire, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council Deputy Chairman; and then toured the Barbican Centre with Claire Spencer, CEO, and Will Gompterz, Director Arts and Learning.
Later, the Governor met with representatives from Wellcome Trust; and spoke at an event for Victorian university alumni from UK private and government sectors.
In the evening, the Governor attended and spoke at a Drink Victorian event.
While on an Official Visit to the United Kingdom, the Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, met with Acting High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ms Lynette Wood; and then laid a wreath at the Australian War Memorial.
Later, the Governor toured the Royal Albert Hall, and then met with representatives from the creative sectors of United Kingdom and Victoria.
In the afternoon, the Governor officially opened Seer Medical’s new UK offices.
In the evening, the Governor met with representatives from Ultra Violette, and attended and spoke at a Trade Mission Dinner.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Later, the Governor departed Melbourne for Official Overseas Travel to the United Kingdom.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, welcomed guests to the State Apartments of Government House Victoria, as part of the Open House Melbourne 2022 Program.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, accompanied by Mr Anthony Howard AM QC, attended and spoke at the Essendon Women’s Network ‘Legacy and Leadership’ Dinner.
Earlier, Mr Howard conducted a tour of the State Apartments.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, received the call of Mr Kithsiri Herath, Consul General of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Later, the Governor and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC hosted a virtual Governor in Schools Program session with students from Bright P-12 College.
The Governor, the Hon Linda Dessau AC, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council, and later met with Brett Stevens, Victorian Commissioner to Greater China.
In the morning, Mr Anthony Howard AM QC conducted a tour of the State Apartments and Kitchen Garden for students from the Victorian Working Group on International Student Employability (VicWISE).
