Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor received a call from Ms Keiko Haneda, Consul General of Japan; and Mr Paul Sapountsis, President of Law Institute Victoria. Later, the Governor hosted a lunch for The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle and Councillors of City of Melbourne.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council; and later visited the Golden Dragon Museum in Bendigo. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted a closing reception for the 2016 MPavilion.
The Governor and Judge Howard hosted the 2016 Multi-Faith Opening of the Legal Year. In the evening Judge Howard visited and toured the Traveller's Aid facility at Southern Cross Station.
The Governor and Judge Howard attended the 2016 Australian Open Men's Final.
The Governor and Judge Howard attended the 2016 Australian Open Women's Final.
The Governor received the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry Report Volume III - Health Improvement from the Hon. Bernard Teague AO, Chair, and Prof. John Catford, Board Member; and later received the Hon. Warren Snowden MP and Mrs Andrea Goddard.
The Governor toured and received a briefing on operations at Vicdeaf in East Melbourne. Later, the Governor and Judge Howard received The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP and Ms Lucy Hughes Turnbull AO.
The Governor received Mr W.S.G. Prasanna, Consul General of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard attended the 2016 Allan Border Medal presentation.
The Governor and Judge Howard attended the Official Flag Raising Ceremony and Australia Day Parade at Melbourne Town Hall; and later welcomed the public to Open Day at Government House.
On Friday, the Governor received Mr Tony Ellwood, Director of the National Gallery of Victoria.
