Notes on the program of the Governor of Victoria.
The Governor attended the 2016 Tennis Victoria Volunteers Breakfast at the MCG; and later the Official Australia Day Luncheon. The Governor received Mr Ian Hamm, Chair, and Mr Tom Mosby, CEO of Koorie Heritage Trust. Judge Howard hosted a tour for Summer Interns at Government House.
The Governor toured the Emergency Management Victoria State Control Centre in East Melbourne. In the evening, the Governor and Judge Howard hosted the 2016 Australia Day Reception. HE Mr Paul Maddison, High Commissioner of Canada and Mrs Maddison departed Government House.
The Governor received Ms Laura Anderson, Chair, and Mr Graeme Lewsey, CEO, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival; and later, Major General David Coghlan AM, Senior Australian Defence Force Representative. The Governor also received Br Bayram Aktepe, President of the Islamic Council of Victoria, together with Br Mohamed Mohideen, Vice-President and Br Nail Akyan, Executive Director of the Islamic Council of Victoria.
His Excellency Mr Paul Maddison, High Commissioner of Canada and Mrs Fay Maddison arrived to stay at Government House. The Governor later received a call from the High Commissioner of Canada.
The Governor and Judge Howard were represented by Lieutenant Natasha Jager ADC at the State Memorial for The Honourable James Carlton AO at Wilson Hall, University of Melbourne.
The Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
The Governor received Mr Richard Bolt, Secretary, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources.
The Governor and Judge Howard attended 'The Environmental Symphony' composed by Dr Allan Zavod, performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and hosted by The Royal Melbourne Hospital Neuroscience Foundation.

The Governor received Robert Johanson, Chairman, and Professor Craig Jeffrey, Director, Australia India Institute. Later, the Governor received His Excellency Mr Sibusiso Ndebele, High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa; and later, The Honourable Jenny Mikakos, Minister for Families and Children, Minister for Youth Affairs.
